What are black professionals worth? We are now in conversation with Fikile Moya, who is an independent journalist and a former editor of The Mercury and The Witness. Fikile says many black professionals across sectors live with the reality that they are forever second-guessed, whether they come from so-called bush colleges or speak "with an accent". He further states that black professionals in general, and black female professionals in particular, always need to prove their worth. For this discussion we will look at the difference between the remuneration for white and black men and women who are working and try to answer the question: What are black professionals worth?
