The preparation to anticipation leads to Godly expectation.
If we don’t have any Godly expectations, we haven’t prepared in anticipation for the expectation.
Three stages of preparation.
Stage one of preparation: Knowing God’s promises.
Three promises we should know to have Godly expectations.
Ephesians 2:8-10 NLT
1. God has good things planned for me.
Romans 8:27-28 NLT
2. God is going to work it out.
Ephesians 3:20 NLT
3. God can do way more in my life than He is already doing.
Why does atmosphere matter? Or why does my attitude and mindset matter?
Mark 6:1-6 NLT
Stage two of preparation: Having a good attitude.
Stage three of preparation: Obedience to God's word.
Obedience is vital and an essential ingredient in Godly expectation.
2 John 1-6 NIV
John 14:23 NIV
The five problems with the lack of preparation and obedience that kills Godly expectation.
1. It produces small or zero amounts of faith.
2. You either lack the spiritual knowledge of God’s word, or you know God’s word, and you chose not to live it.
3. Instead of being open-minded about what God can do, you become offended by the mystery of the miracle worker (Jesus) and it becomes more about why He can’t than why He could.
4. You are always in a state of dissatisfaction and indecision, which leads to a cycle of constant questioning.
5. You miss out on the greatest miracles God wants to do in your life.
