In #agile #scrum environments, the #scrummaster is the glue that binds the #scrumteam together.  

They act as the guardian of scrum and coaches who help create environments where the #team can excel. They play a critical role in ensuring that the #developmentteam and #productowner can collaborate toward creating a product, feature, or service that truly delights customers.  

Scrum is built on the value proposition of achieving twice the work in half the time so a Scrum Master is also responsible for ensuring that the team are working at optimal velocity and rapidly iterating on each #increment that is delivered at the end of a #sprint.  

It's a tough role that is often filled with heaps of challenges, especially as you get better at the role and succeed in creating self-organising, autonomous teams that effectively make decisions and remove impediments to progress in their working environment.  

John McFadyen has worked as a Scrum Master and Agile Coach on some of the largest, most complex #agiletransformations in Europe and the UK. He has actively worked at the coalface within some of the world's highest performing Scrum teams.
