Did you grab more than your share of discount candy? Well, we want to know what you did this Valentine’s Day. Our friends from ART Center have created a song to the tune of “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?” to find out just that!
With the song, the group wanted to write a holiday song for Valentine's Day since there's not one they knew of for that particular holiday. Our Long Beach composers decided to brainstorm ideas for what makes Valentine's Day such a great holiday. For the past couple of weeks, the group voted on which lyrics to use, what instruments everyone wanted to play, and whether we wanted an original melody or an interpretation of a classic. So without further ado, please enjoy a new classic: “What Are You Doing Valentine’s Day?”
"I bought you flowers that grew from the sun
To show I care and that you’re the one
What are we doing Valentine’s, Valentine’s Day?
I got you chocolate kisses to enjoy
Seeing you happy gets me overjoyed
What are we doing Valentine’s, Valentine’s Day?
It might be a long shot, but I need to know
Give me a yes or give me a no
Will you be my one and only Valentine?
I went ahead and bought you a card
To try and show you the feelings of my heart
What are we doing Valentine’s, Valentine’s Day?"
