In this episode of The Overgivers Anonymous Podcast, I have a question for you…

…why are you so worried?? 

I want to know why so many people get so caught up in the lies they keep telling themselves that they actually prevent themselves from being successful. I want to stop that negative chatter. I want you to be successful! A lot of the lies people tell themselves have to do with onboarding new people to help them inside their business. Lies about outsourcing duties to other people. And I get it. I've been there, I've done that, I’ve bought the t-shirt. We know it is important to learn from other people's mistakes. I'm going to share with you the mistakes I have made and the mistakes others have made.

The lies you tell yourself:

No one can service my clients like I can.

No one knows how to do the things I do.

I have a special way of doing things.

It's a waste of time to train someone - It would take longer to show someone how.

No one will care as much as I do and they will let me down.

I don't have time to chase people.

I have hired before and it didn't work out, so it never will.

You are right. Nobody knows how you do what you do. Perhaps you do have a special way of doing things, however, that's easily solved. Just share it.
If I don't open the dialogue to ask, “Does this make sense to you?”, then my assumption is “you know what you're doing”.  Unfortunately, their assumption might be “I'm not allowed to ask questions”. This kind of misunderstanding can cause some huge issues inside a team.
It does take longer to train somebody. However, the benefits outweigh the short-term “pain”. 
It is not a waste of time, because you are investing in somebody. When you invest in somebody in your team, and they feel valuable, then they will actually contribute MORE to your team. Investing in people is important. You will reap rewards, there will be a return on the investment of your time, and you will gain time because you're no longer doing that task inside your business. 
If you bring people into a team, be sure to be open with your plans, what is currently happening, and encourage open communication. You build a team environment where other people can lean on each other. You build a team of people who actually care.

Your business can grow, change and expand. Things can evolve as you move forward. You just have to stop lying to yourself, because that is what is holding you back. You are standing in your own damn way! So start thinking about what it is that you are worried about. What you're worried about is probably just a lie. Write out some of the things that you're great at, write out some of the things that you're not so great at and decide what tasks you need to get off your plate right now. By outsourcing, you will enjoy your business more and be able to put your energy and effort into things that will actually grow your business rather than just run it.
