Growing Scrum Masters

What are your 3 most recommended books for scrum masters and why?

Listen Later

#scrum is built on the value proposition of achieving twice the work in half the time. Teams are able to achieve this kind of performance because they are deeply invested in the concept of continuous improvement.

As a #scrummaster, you need to embody the same #agile values and principles, and invest in your own continuous improvement.

How?

By attending courses, seminars, events and by reading a great deal.

Reading books from subject matter experts exposes you to new lines of reasoning, thinking, and gives you insights into how these individuals solved problems that you are very likely to encounter in your own working environment.

In fact, at the end of each of my #scrum courses, I provide each delegate with a recommended reading list that will help them grow as scrummasters and develop a practice of practices that leads to excellence.

But how do you choose where to begin or which books are worth investing in if you aren't lucky enough to have someone provide a recommended reading list for you in your career?

We asked John McFadyen to provide us with his 3 most recommended books for scrum masters and this is the list that he provided.

John McFadyen has worked on some of the highest performing scrum teams in the world as both a scrum master and an #agilecoach.

He has also worked at the coalface of some of the UK and Europe's largest, most complex #agiletransformations.  He has walked the walk and talked the talk.

We hope you find the books he has recommended useful in your development as a scrum master.
