Britain’s success cannot be attributed to genetics or its geography. To put it another way, if Britain did not invent the tools of greatness, then the roots of Britain’s greatness were established from the beginning; 6000 years ago, in Eden, to be precise. If what Britain was and is, can be attributed to a one-off unique event never to be duplicated, this essay would be an exercise in jingoism, of no interest to anyone not British. But if Britain only did what everyone ought to be doing, then Britain becomes an experimental case study.
