There's a saying, "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning." What happens when weeping turns into screaming, then to depression, then to hopelessness? Join Dr. D and special guest, Tony Award-Winning, Grammy Nominated Melba Moore as they discuss, "What can I do to survive?", which is also the name of her new single. Legendary vocalist and actress Melba Moore has a career full of chart-topping highs and soul-shaking lows, but she comes back stronger every time.
Melba has boasted numerous Billboard hit songs as well as appearances on top shows such as The Tonight Show and The Cosby Show. Melba was featured in the film The Fighting Temptations, starring Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Beyoncé. She has a new R&B album forthcoming, her first in 20 years.
“I have been low more than once," Melba said. "If you have a dream, and you have something that you want to live for, that makes you think about more than the devastation that you are experiencing... Sometimes you really feel like you want it to be over and even contemplate suicide, but for some reason you don’t, so you wait a minute, and wait a minute, and wait another minute, then after a while you just get the heck up!”
If you need the inspiration to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and rise victorius from the ashes, this is your show!
