The first third of the essay looks at democracy and capitalism and the idea of meritocracy. But the virtue of man or man in any political party cannot be quantified. The second third looks at the risk the other represents and the ways democracy has sought to give a voice to the minority. Only then do we look in the last third at a different option tied neither to the popular vote or the power of money. The question is asked, who actually has a right to vote?
