Acts 15: 1-2, 4-5,8-10,20,29; Mark 7:18-20
What defines us as gentiles is not the law, but what comes from the heart. Jesus changes hearts and lives.
When Peter, Paul, and Barnabas preached to the Gentiles, they received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which cleansed their hearts. God provided them with a new way of living: to accept Jesus as their Savior. He fulfilled the law and gave His life as a ransom for many who believe in His saving grace.
We no longer need to be circumcised to enter heaven or strictly follow the law of Moses, for Jesus left us two new commandments: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength," and "Love your neighbor as yourself."Matthew 22:34-40. By following these two commandments, we effectively obey the law and are saved by grace.
