This week our Heroes start the show talking about tv shows Clone High (watch free on MTV.com), the most recent episode of Tiger King and the fallout after the show, Modern Family ending after 11 years, and American Idol.
We then head in to the Patreon questions, where we talk about the new music we have been listening to lately. Dan thinks songs are now being created to become TikTok songs and talks about music to help him sleep. Jess talks about her small army of Alexa beacons she has in her house. Jess loves Jeeps, Groundhog’s Day, and Bill Murray, so it is no surprise that she would like the new commercial that Jeep made. Dan talks about the commercials that are addressing the current health situation.
We get into the first topic, talking about how AI learns to translate human brain activity into text for Locked-In Syndrome Patients, and the good and bad things that can come from being able to read people's thoughts. Do you want people to read your every thought?
The record has been broken, yet again, for the time it takes to drive a car from NY to California. You have to average over 100mph and break all the laws to get it done. With 50% less traffic on the road, now is the best time to attempt it. This turns into talks about high speed pursuits and how the police handle things differently in Detroit vs. California.
Our Heroes talk about a good news story about how neighborhoods are projecting movies on their houses for people to enjoy. Dan tries to convince Jess that she should do the same. Dan wants to find someone projecting movies in his town. Dan wants to start a cable access show like Wayne’s World.
What did Hubble see on your birthday? We interact with a NASA website that lets you see what space picture was taken on your birthday. Jess talks about her astrology classes and her desire to have a telescope that takes pictures. Dan wants to go to space and Jess just wants to stay on the ground. Dan is super disenchanted with how his photo looks, while Jess has a rad picture. Dan is now sad that he was born on the 10th because the pictures from the 11th are amazing. Dan asks for everyone to post their Hubble birthday pictures in the Facebook group.
