Minister Aaron Hill continues his series on the gospel of John by looking at John 6 and the miracle of feeding the five thousand, a miracle recorded in all four gospels and one that occurs soon after the death of John the Baptist. This is obviously an important event given that all four gospel writers include it. Jesus' ministry attracted many followers, but for what were they following Him? What did they believe about Jesus? What was their motivation? John 6:2 tells us they followed because they had heard about Jesus healing people. What do we believe about Jesus? What is our motivation? God has the ability to give us everything we need, but that doesn't mean that's what He desires for us. Jesus wants us to see who He is, the Son of God who sustains life.
