One-Degree Shift with Julie Gillespie

What does a positive work environment look like? - Rodo De Boer | Flashback 8

Listen Later

Our purpose of this conversation was to show that valuing and respecting our people within the organisation is so important when building a physical and psychological safe place to work.

You can’t show up as your best self if you are consistently being de-devalued.

People feel safe and valued when they are acknowledged and thanked for their work that they do.

So where does positive change actually start?

This flashback is taken from episode 8. In this flashback you’ll hear:

  1. (00:45) - What does a positive work environment look like?
  2. (02:00) - What's the difference between being supportive and not supportive at work?
  3. (03:50) - What does a safe environment look like?
  4. This was such a great conversation with Rodo. We would love to hear your feedback and thoughts on this topic. We are fueled by the knowledge that these conversations help people feel more connected and comfortable with having important conversations that make a difference.

‘Conversations with Julie’ acknowledges the traditional owners of the land on which we all live, paying respect to elders, past, present and emerging. Julie honours the idea that shared stories are what connect us to the land, our ancestors, and each other.
