What Does Colossians 1:18 Mean?

Listen Later

Colossians 1:18 (NIV) And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.

Beginning in Colossians chapter 1 verse 15, Paul writes that Jesus is the image of the invisible God. He is the firstborn, or the supreme authority over all creation. He created all things and holds all things together

Today, Paul is narrowing down his focus from Christ being supreme over everything to Christ being supreme over the Church body.

Listen now to discover what Christ's role is in your life as a member of His Body.
