When we abide, remain, and linger in the Lord. What that looks like is we are reading the word and allowing the word to read us. We are dissecting the scripture looking up the meaning of certain words, and meditating on it for as long as we need to until it makes sense to us and resonates with us in our current situation. Abiding is also putting on worship music or singing our hearts out to the Lord, or we are praying consistently, whether that’s out loud or in a prayer journal.
When God tells us to abide or linger in Him, He is calling us to spend time with Him. Because He knows how hard this faith walk can be especially when we are facing the daily storms of life. His word is what fuels us with faith, hope, and perseverance to keep going.
Scripture
John 15: 4-5
Philippians 4:8-9
Psalm 91:1
Isaiah 54:17
Deuteronomy 31:6
