The psychology of money is such a great book, a definite must read for ANYBODY!!!  And I mean it is a top 10 book you should read and read it many times… but he shares an insight that rocks me every time He talks about it. He shares a story of a young guy who came from a upper class white collar family, graduated from the top business school, got a job at the top investment firm and made amazing money and ready… died broke. No surprise I guess in todays world… but it happens a lot. But he juxtaposed this story with the story of a Janitor who got paid minimum wage… never got into debt, saved money regularly and without great sacrifice and when he died he left behind more than 2 million dollars…

But the authors point was this… almost in no other field will you see that your reputation and pedigree and intelligence makes any difference at all in regards to how well you can invest… meaning anyone can cash in on the power of compound interest… ANYBODY. 

So it gets me thinking… you can have someone who has a father and mother in ministry, a great ministry, lots of fruit, signs wonders, power miracles… amazing. Can hear gods voice crystal clear… , had gone to the best seminary and has all the theological degrees, the big time pastor friends ….and … And… yet they can end up Spiritually bankrupt OR OR OR they die on target serving God but their kids are a wreck! 

But the same thing can be seen in this picture as well… you can get the guy who has horrible parenting, no spiritual upbringing, or example, has never grown up or experienced the power of God, miracles, wonders, signs etc… has no seminary, bible college, in fact has a pretty sinful life full of selfishness and spiritual blindness… but then experiences new birth in Christ and develops the intimacy to move in powerful ways in the spirit for God. 

Smith Wigglesworth was born in poverty, his first job was pulling turnips out of the ground… he became a plumber… but when he was baptized in the Holy Spirit the world changed… he would have been the last kid picked in the preacher hall of fame candidates, and yet we still talk about his crazy miracles today.

So what’s my point? 

No excuses.. no advantages can make or break the power of God in your life. Only time with him or the lack there of. 

So you don’t have the pedigree, the education, the right spouse, the best religious upbringing… don’t matter. What matters is time reading, praying, obeying every day in and out. Its not a secret ingredient, its the only ingredient.
