An engaging story about overcoming adversity
I always love reading a story about how someone overcame a challenge. Better still when the writer has a writing style that makes it readable. Mary DeYon has a talent for writing and she has overcome a lot of challenges. I'm really impressed with how willing she was to honestly talk about choices she made that many people would prefer to keep buried. It speaks a lot to her strength of character and her strong will to win out over any challenge. Well-done Mary!
Love doesn't always follow the fairy tale story
I recently met Mary and decided to read her book. Her life has so clearly been on the same path as mine. Love doesn't always follow the fairy tale story. Mary has bared her soul to help others on the same path. I found it to be an enjoyable read. It's not too heavy and doesn't bore you. As a woman I can appreciate the depths she went to trying to save her marriages. She shows us that even though our burden may be heavy, at some point you can set down the load and move on.
Inspiring and meaningful-- from the heart
Mary shares heartfelt life lessons thru real life stories and experiences. I could relate to each of them and appreciate the value our trials and tribulations teach us. Well written-- would love to know more about current day chapter
I just finished Mary's wonderful book. I laughed
I just finished Mary's wonderful book. I laughed, I cried and I couldn't put it down. This could have been my story! I so identified with Mary - her hardships, her joys, her marriages, her family relationships, her business successes, her food issues, her unconditional love for her son. Mary's story is the story of so many baby boomer, strong, intelligent women. We had one foot in the time when women were to 'stand by their man' or, better, stand behind their man, quietly in the shadow - with our other foot planted in the 'you've come a long way baby' world of strong, independent women who can be successful and not be a b$#&^! Not many people can tell this story in such an honest, humorous, heartfelt and - did I say - honest way! Mary DeYon is a brave lady to tell her story...all the ups and the downs....and come out of it as an evolved and lovely soul. Thank you, Mary, for telling your story...our story...and reminding us women that loving ourselves first is at the core of our success, our abundance, our joy and our freedom.
Excellent Read!
While I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I picked up this book, I found before too long that I couldn't put it down.
