In this episode, Arnie and Fred continue their discussion of substance abuse from the Bible's standpoint. We start off by looking at some of the legal aspects. We note a number of passages that mention the legal authority of civil government, where that comes from and God's requirement that we obey their laws. We look at a number of the harmful effects of substance abuse in the physical, emotional and spiritual life of the individual. We discuss some of the mortality statistics in the USA resulting from substance abuse. A short mention of marijuana and the chemical it contains follows. We end the episode with the start of our discussion about tobacco abuse which we will have to complete in a third episode.
