Amos 5:18-27.
With a word of 'woe', Amos challenges Israel's desire for the day of the Lord. At this point in their religious life, Israel was marked by a routine worship of God which had lulled them into a false sense of security with God. And through the lens of this false security they were looking forward to the day of the Lord thinking all their trouble would disappear. But because of their unrepentant rebellion the day of the Lord will not go as they think it will go. We challenged each other by asking ourselves the question-"What does our future hold? Does it hold what we think it will hold?"
