We visualize a future where we are all able to live in an equitable, just, inclusive, accessible, better world and no one is left behind.
Hello friends, and welcome back to Season 3 of Now What? Hosted by myself JR. I’m so glad you’re here with me.
You know, every time we step into a new season, I like to pause and ask: What future do we really want to create together?
Not just the one we fear, or the one that seems inevitable because the world feels so fast, but the one that grows out of us, our choices, our connections, and yes, our hope.
Now What? is rooted in kindness, encouragement, and a deep commitment to humanity.
Before we begin take a moment to just sit quietly with your eyes closed.
* Breathe slowly in and out
* Take a deep breath in
* And WHOOSH it all out!
Today we’re talking about hope as more than just a feeling. I want you to think of it as a root system. A living, breathing network under the soil of our lives that anchors us, nourishes us, and quietly holds our communities together.
Let’s dig into this together.

What future do you want? And what does it mean to root that future in hope?
Part 1: Why Hope Matters for the Future
Part 2: Hope as a Root System
Part 3: Connection Grows Where Hope is Planted
Part 4: Building a Hope-Rooted Community
Wrapping Up
Here’s the heartbeat of today’s conversation
* Hope is not just a personal survival strategy
* It’s the root system of community
When we tend to hope, in ourselves and in others we create the soil where connection can grow, where belonging feels possible, and where the future starts to look a little brighter.
This week, I invite you to try something simple
Ask someone close to you, “What future do you want?”
Then pause……
Listen
Share your own hope
Let that conversation be a seed, because those seeds are what grow into the forests of tomorrow.
I’d love for you to try the Reflection Prompt & Exercise in the Resource Section at the bottom of the Newsletter or download the PDF.

Reflection Prompt & Exercise
What Future Do You Want?
Step 1: Pause & Breathe
Take a quiet moment at the end of your day.
Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and ask yourself:
What future do I want, for myself, for the people I love, and for the community I’m part of?
Step 2: Write It Down
In a journal or on a scrap of paper, write three short sentences that begin with:
* For myself, I hope…
* For the people I love, I hope…
* For my community, I hope…
Step 3: Share One Seed
Choose one of those hopes and share it out loud with a friend, in a message to someone you trust, or even in a community post. Speaking hope strengthens its roots.
Step 4: Look for Connection
Notice how others respond.
Often, someone will say, “Me too,” or “I’ve been longing for that as well.” That’s where community begins, in shared hope.
