Sometimes we want what God does not give. Often we desire, and sometimes demand, an exhaustive, experiential understanding of our own lives and everybody else’s. But there is a humility in accepting what God has given, in accepting what he has said––which means we first accept God as God. Following Jesus means not demanding what God has not given, but humbly receiving what he has.
