Knowing that his death was imminent and that the Christian faith would be left without the leadership it always had, Peter wrote a letter warning the church to beware of those who would lead it astray.

The final message Peter left the church was theological in nature. He needed to instruct God’s people to remember what He had done for them through Christ.
