What is Burning Man? What happened at Burning man? Are these questions burning under your nails? Maybe they are not, but we are still going to go into heavy detail because it was such an incredible experience and the thought of potentially motivating one person to go to Burning Man and experiencing it themselves is an opportunity we couldn’t miss.
My boyfriend and I went to Burning Man for the first time this year and we recorded this episode to remember what happened before it gets all forgotten in the playa dust. There are a lot of pictures on the internet of Burning Man, the crazy costumes, the sunsets, the DJs playing, but the subjective experience varies so much from person to person. Now that we are officially Burners we want to share with you a glimpse of this crazy city in the middle of nowhere where so much magic takes place.
Essentially, Burning Man is about being free, it is a place where so many social norms get questioned and turned upside down. It is a place where genuine connection flourishes naturally. The playa provides in the sense that you experience what feels like the most grounded to who you are and what you need at this point in your life, in a sense it mirrors you. It’s not loosing yourself, but instead connecting with your true essence. The most beautiful part of it is when you participate, beyond the observer experience, either giving out coffee, building up the camp, making new friendships, or hugging one of your favorite DJs. The openness, the gifting, the leaving no trace and many more things that we will try to not leave on the playa but carry with us throughout our life.
