I Peter 3:18
I. At The Cross Jesus Died A Sacrificial Death.
The Bible is clear that all who sin die. Since all have sinned then all will die.
Why did Jesus die? He was sinless. Innocent. He voluntarily laid down His life.
II. At The Cross Jesus Died A Substitutionary Death.
The Bible is absolutely crystal clear on the substitutionary atonement of our Lord Jesus.
Paul believed it – Romans 5:8, “While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”.
Peter believed it – I Peter 2:24, “Jesus bore our sins in His body on the tree”.
John believed it – I John 3:16, “By this we know love because He laid down His life for us.”
III. At The Cross Jesus Died A Sufficient Death.
On the cross God took all His wrath and righteous judgement and focused it on Jesus.
CONCULSION:
Don’t ignore the red spot of rich, royal blood on Calvary.
