Will I ever see the person I love again? Why do I feel so sad
Kids have a lot of questions about death and dying. I thought this was a really informative book to help give children real answers and also comfort.
Questions asked: What does death mean? Do people die too? What happens when someone dies? What happens to the person who has died? Where does that person go? What is a soul? Where does the soul go after a person dies? What is the afterlife? Will I ever see the person I love again? Why do I feel so sad? What can I do to feel better?
So happy to have this new recommendation for parents and children.
I loved this book
I loved this book! It's very concrete and appropriate for very young children although the reader might need to skip some words for the youngest as it could be a bit long. It's great for children who have lost someone or heard about someone dying who is not a regular part of their lives. It only briefly touches on grieving and remembering.
Concrete and age appropriate Pre3-2nd grade for this difficult topic.
Picked this up at the library, and now am purchasing it for our home. As described on the cover, is 'just enough' information for preschool and early elementary aged kids. Death is described in concrete, yet sensitive terms. This is a book that is inclusive of many different beliefs and religions. It offers suggestions for helpful grieving. Most of the book is in a question and answer format.
