Abandoned on a street corner by his mother at the age of 12, young Bill sat and waited for her... For 3 days. 

She never came back. 

Years later, in 1980 he founded Metro Ministries, to reach kids  in Bushwick, Brooklyn, one of New York’s toughest neighborhoods most commonly known for its gang violence, crime, drugs, and poverty.  Beaten, stabbed and shot, he refused to leave the neighborhood; believing the situation wasn’t hopeless, just that the children and their families didn’t have any hope.  

Now, over 40 years later, what was then Metro Ministries has grown into a worldwide impact program that touches over one quarter of a million children. Every. Single. Week!
