Carl ‘Spark’ Ball, born and raised in Waukegan, Illinois, worked 14 years at NCR Corporation in sales and management before joining Gallagher Systems Group, where he became President. In 1998, he transitioned to full-time ministry, engaging in church planting with the Chicago District Evangelical Association. Spark completed church planting training and certification, and pastored Heartland Community Christian Church in Gurnee. He later became Executive Director of Love INC of Lake County in 2004, expanding church collaboration. Married to Cindy for over 37 years, they adopted two children, Buddy and Renee. Cindy went to be with the Lord in June of 2021 after 11 years of fighting cancer. Spark has attended Immanuel since 2018 and serves part-time with Nexus Church Planting and Leader Care.

Danielia Mateja and her family have been coming to Immanuel for 23 years now and has enjoyed serving in different capacities. Starting out in MOPS then moving into Bible studies and currently attending the MOMSnext group while helping to lead women’s ministry here has been a great joy to her. If she could sit across from anyone over a good cup of coffee or tea and ask one question it would be: “What is God showing you lately?”. Getting to know people and hear how God is moving in their lives is one of her very favorite things, along with spending time with her husband, Rick, and her 4 kids.

Kyle Dwyer has served in several different churches in various capacities since 2013. Having completed his studies from Moody Bible Institute and Moody Theological Seminary, he has served as Teaching Pastor of a Spanish speaking church plant, as a Youth and Worship Pastor, and most recently as Senior Pastor, all in churches in Iowa. Kyle accepted the position of Resident Teaching Pastor and began in early January serving in that role. Kyle’s passion is to see God’s people thrive in their relationship with Jesus through the preaching and teaching of God’s word.

Angel Roman was a missionary in Honduras from 2003 to 2006, followed by three impactful years as a youth pastor in a Chicago inner city ministry from 2000 to 2003. Angel continued his service by actively participating in church planting efforts in both Chicago and Waukegan from 2007 to 2014, contributing to the community until 2021. Notably, he held the position of Director of Operations at the Lake County Boys & Girls Club for seven years. Angel started attending Immanuel Church in the spring of 2022 eventually becoming the High School Director on Immanuel's staff starting December of 2023.
