The Byzantine Empire around the late 11th century was under the rule of incompetent leader, Romanos IV. He led his army against a Turkish sultan at Manzikert to what should have been an easy victory, into a disastrous defeat changing the world forever. How would things look if the Byzantines won the battle? Would they survive for much longer? Would would happen to the nomadic Turkish peoples.
