In today's episode, we're talking about making the decision to take back your power and that you don't have to keep putting yourself second.

Lately I've come to learn that it's actually ok to have some non-negotiables when it comes to your relationship with your partner. You can even have them for all relationships in your life if you choose. But the one thing I want to pass onto my kids, is the fact that they can decide what they are and aren't available for in any relationship they may have. I mean, we truly do get to choose how we are treated.

This is something that was never really talked about when I was a teenager or growing up. And sometimes we don't always see the best relationships modeled to us by our parents or those around us.

We get to teach our kids to draw that line, set those boundaries, and truly create a life they enjoy while also taking care of themselves.

You don't have to put yourself second to please anyone.

And the hard part: we can't just say it to our kids; we've got to lead by example. Are we constantly putting ourselves on the back burner? That sends a powerful message because remember, actions do indeed speak louder than words.

In your relationship, where are you putting yourself second? It's about taking accountability, recognizing where you abandoned yourself. You now get to become the example for your kids that change is possible.

So, remember, don't pick up everybody else's stones. You'll face resistance, especially from that ego of yours. But it's all part of the journey.
