Seth: Okay Mary. This leads right into the next one we said we'd talk about a podcast and Mary's gonna explain what a podcast is. And then Mary's gonna answer why it is so important to learn English.

Mary: Okay, well, a podcast is a recording. Anybody can make him. Some of them are better than others, but you can find a podcast. The thing that is so great about a podcast is that you can find a podcast on any topic. So if you really like fiction, you know, a story, you could find a podcast on that. If you like sports, there's a podcast on that. If you're really into pop culture, there are podcasts on that, if you really like current events there are podcasts about that, so you can go into your podcast app on your phone or however you listen to your podcasts, and almost all of them are free. You just subscribe, and then you always have something new to listen to. So if you guys ever need recommendations for good podcasts, just let us know and we have a lot of good ones that we listen to and good ones that we share with our students all the time.

And so that's a great way for you to be able to practice English. And like I said before, because you can listen and re-listen to things. And for some podcasts, you can even find the transcript so that if there's something that you're not understanding, you can go in and find the transcript of what has been recorded and follow along so that you can understand. You know, what, does this phrase mean? That something that you could Google or how did they use this?

I've heard Americans use this, but I don't really understand what they're saying. So you can pull that out of the writings, the thing that you are hearing and then understand the language even that much more.

Seth: Perfect.. I actually look for podcasts in Portuguese to help me better my Portuguese language.
