What is an Apostle?

Listen Later

The word apostle comes from the Greek apostolos, meaning “one who is sent with authority on behalf of another.”
In Scripture, it is not merely a messenger, but a commissioned representative acting under the authority of the sender.

“As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” (John 20:21)
