What is Civics?

Civics...The rights, Responsibilities and Obligations of citizenship. It used to be taught in our schools, until those in power realized it was how they could lose power. So they stopped teaching it in schools. The very purpose of civics is to prevent stuff like that from happening. 

Everyone talks about their rights….What about the rest? 

Responsibilities are things we did that we need to take care of. 

Like driving our kids to school…and picking them up.

Obligations are things we didn’t even do, that we still have to take care of. 

Like, addressing the Climate Crisis caused by corporate greed and corrupt politicians. 

Or…helping those less fortunate, because they are human beings, not immigrants or illegal aliens, but our brothers and sisters. We are one species. We share one planet. 

 

Patriots understand if we want to enjoy rights, we need to ensure they’re upheld for everyone. If we don’t like the way things are going, it’s up to us to do something about it. KORC Music and Civics, for a civilization that preserves rights for all by taking care of responsibilities and obligations.
