Perception colors everything. Have you ever been around a person that you perceive to be a certain way, only to find out they are nothing like you perceived them to be? Usually our perception is self-based; we filter our thoughts about someone or something based upon our own experience. Ever get really upset about a situation or with some people, only to find out your emotional hurricane was all unwarranted? Perception, unchecked by truth, builds barriers between people; perceptions unchecked by truth will build a self-made barrier between me the Lord.
