You may contract Human Papillomavirus (HPV) in your lifetime, but do you actually know what it is?

Up to 90% of people who have ever been sexually active, will have one genital type of HPV at some stage in their lives.

It's likely that your immune system will clear HPV but if it persists, high-risk HPV types can cause 6 different types of cancer – cervical, vaginal, vulval, anal, penile and oropharyngeal (mouth and throat) cancer.
