Kim has heard elders in her family say this “If at first you don’t succeed, try doing it the way your wife told you!” We laugh at this statement, but she wonders - What are we really saying here? That men are a bit incompetent? That they’re overgrown children that still need women to channel them into being men and functional adults? That woman aren't satisfied until we have someone to nag? That we’ll end up weary but at least the job will get done? In reality, this attitude is one where neither gender wins.
Today Tonya and Kim discuss emotional labor, gender expectations, and mindfulness in relationships of all types.
