LOGLINE
When the narrator's well-meaning mother sets her up on a blind date at a coffee shop, she discovers that the search for love isn't as simple as showing up looking nice—it's about finding someone who actually wants to be there.
EPISODE SUMMARY
The narrator's mother, determined to help her daughter find love, has set her up on a blind date. With her best friend's daughter. A woman whose photo doesn't exist anywhere on the internet. A woman who might be in witness protection.
Naturally, the narrator is confident this will go great.
She spends the day preparing: checking her shirt for mustard stains from yesterday's lunch, debating whether to wear a suit (yes, effort is important), and trying to suppress the voice in her head that's screaming like a Sim whose house is on fire.
The coffee shop. 9 a.m. A suit. High hopes.
And then... she trips over nothing.
While walking in. In front of her date. Who laughs like it's the funniest YouTube fail compilation she's ever seen.
The narrator recovers, sits down, and tries to start a normal conversation. But the very first words out of her date's mouth are devastating:
"Is this meal free?"
Not "Hi, nice to meet you." Not "How are you?" Just... is the food free?
