What Is Our Purpose?

Listen Later

What is my purpose? Why am I here? What is God calling me to do?

In this week’s sermon, Rev. Shuler Sitsch continues our series, Everything Under the Sun: A Study on Ecclesiastes, by looking at Ecclesiastes 7:15–22. Ecclesiastes reminds us that life is not always simple, fair, or easy to explain. Righteous people still suffer. Wicked people sometimes seem to thrive. Life is not transactional.

So what is our purpose?

Through Ecclesiastes, we are invited to seek wisdom, surrender control, and faithfully walk with God in every season. Our purpose is not to master life, hack life, or control every outcome. Our purpose is to surrender to the will of God and trust that God is still present in the middle of our questions.

Guiding Question:

What does it look like to surrender my purpose to God?
