In Illinois, the average weekly wage (AWW) is determined by tax records from the last four financial quarters and then used to calculate the Temporary Total Disability (TTD) rate (66 and two-thirds percent).
Permanency in workers' comp refers to Permanent Partial Disability (PPD), which accounts for changes in the body after medical treatment. PPD rate is 60% of AWW. Lump sum settlements are determined based on the severity of the injury, often citing similar cases and arguing for higher compensation.
