A guy wanted me to do a video about this, so here it is.
If you've ever wondered what permanency is and how it affects your case, this video is for you. Scott breaks down the process of determining your average weekly wage and how it is used to calculate your temporary total disability rate (TTD) and your permanent partial disability rate (PPD). He also discusses the importance of understanding the fee schedule for medical care and how it impact
Workers' compensation laws vary by state, but share similarities; legal representation may involve co-counseling with local attorneys familiar with state-specific procedures. In Illinois, the average weekly wage (AWW) is determined by tax records from the last four financial quarters and then used to calculate the Temporary Total Disability (TTD) rate (66 and two-thirds percent).
Permanency in workers' comp refers to Permanent Partial Disability (PPD), which accounts for changes in the body after medical treatment. PPD rate is 60% of AWW. Lump sum settlements are determined based on the severity of the injury, often citing similar cases and arguing for higher compensation. Resources like the "Good Case Calculator" and "Case Cash Calculator" on the lawyer's website provide free tools to assess case viability and potential compensation, aiming to educate and assist injured individuals.
