Today we are looking at the idea of pre seed capital and what it is. Raising money for a business typically happens in phases. Those phases often include;
- “F.F.F” or the Family, Friends, and Founders round
- Seed capital, which is generally your first funding from an outside investor
- Series A round
- Series B round
- and so on
So, where does pre seed capital fall in the mix? Well, exactly where you might expect. Just before your seed capital round or around the F.F.F. round. I recommend treating investors in a pre seed capital round just like you would any other investors. Even if they are related to you. In fact, treat them like a normal investor because they are related to you! Pre seed capital investors should have a chance to review your pitch deck and projections, as well as any other type of due diligence they require.
