After working a midnight shift at a small L.A. diner, Dreux (Keke Palmer) is exhausted and eager to retire to her apartment and get some rest before a huge job interview that may alter her life. She lives with Alyssa (SZA), an artist who prioritizes her lover, Keshawn (Joshua David Neal), over holding a job. Dreux believes Alyssa would pass over the rent money to landlord Uche (Rizi Timane), so she is surprised when her friend entrusts Keshawn with the money he swiftly spends on a t-shirt business proposal. With nine hours to pay, Uche, Dreux, and Alyssa enter their neighborhood to obtain quick cash.
