What is Special about a Cape buffalo?

The African buffalos are widely known for their strength, resilience, and complex social structure. The Cape buffalos in particular are perhaps the most iconic subspecies whose sheer size embody their power. For instance, Female Cape buffalos, or cows, weigh up to 700 kg, while males, also known as bulls, can reach a staggering 907 kg. They mostly thrive in large, tightly-knit groups, often referred to as either herds, gangs, troops, or obstinacy, a fitting term given to their reputation for their aggressiveness and strength in numbers.
