After Facebook (Meta) announced its rebranding strategy back in October 2021, the term metaverse exploded in popularity, and many metaverse related cryptocurrencies such as the Sandbox's Sand token and Decentraland's Mana token experienced significant price spikes as the concept of an immersive digital experienced the mainstream consciousness.
