In reflecting on this Synod theme of making glad the city of God, it occurs to me that we the church are the river, that which makes glad the city of God. We are also that city. We have a lot of responsibility in this work. Our hands, feet, and voices must be engaged in bringing about a world that offers justice for the whole of Creation. We must bring about the day when all are welcome to the table. Check out this episode to also hear some of what I have personally been doing at this year's national UCC Synod gathering in Baltimore.
