Worship is far more than Sunday morning singing - it's expressing love to God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Every person is created to worship something, and we become like what we worship. When we worship modern idols like money, image, power, or pleasure, we become calculating, performative, controlling, or undisciplined. True worship involves four essential principles: formation (becoming like God), warfare (declaring allegiance in enemy territory), obedience (following biblical commands), and sacrifice (surrendering our entire lives to God). We are called to examine what we truly worship and choose to surrender our whole selves to God rather than the empty promises of worldly idols.
