Most of the time, if you want to change something to make it better, your two main options are to add new components or to take away components that are already there. When you describe both options like this, it’s obvious that subtraction is an option, and might sometimes be a better option. But when you’re going through everyday life, you have to generate all the options on your own. However, we have a tendency to think that the way to make things better is to do more. Often we overlook the value of removing something to increase the appreciation of the rest.
