What does it mean to be a disciple of Christ?
Scott Aniol explains that a disciple is not just a follower of Christ but one who sits at the feet of the teacher, learning and comprehending from the teachings. This discipleship isn't purely intellectual, but also involves listening, understanding, and living out the teachings in day-to-day life. A disciple of Christ intentionally follows His teachings and examples.
Furthermore, a disciple observes the life of the one discipling him. It's a life-for-life transmission. A disciple of Christ doesn't merely follow the instructions but watches the example and character qualities of Christ, following those examples in their own life. This discipleship is an intentional process of learning, understanding, and living out the teachings and examples of Christ.
John 13:15 (NKJV): "For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you."
