In today’s episode we will hear what else Jesus said about “adultery.” It is not new to us, but this idea would have been brand new to God’s people who heard it long ago. So much so that the disciples responded in Matthew 19:10 that if this is how things are between a husband and wife, then it is better not to get married! No doubt everything Jesus said about adultery in the Sermon on the Mount would have captured the attention of his audience, including what he said here about a woman who is divorced by her husband. Let’s hope it captures our attention too.
