December 18, 2022 . . .

Luke 1:57-80 gives us the birth of the son of Elisabeth and Zacharias, John, who would one day prepare the way for the Savior.  The Holy Spirit filled Zacharias and he spoke the prophecy of the coming Savior and how his child, John, would prepare people for the coming of the Messiah. Christ’s coming provides salvation, fulfills prophecy, gives us purpose and blessings. Christ would bring light to the darkness, pardon for the condemned, and guidance to the lost. As we go through all our typical Christmas celebration activities, let us not forget what this time of preparation is truly all about. As John would one day prepare the way for the ministry of Christ, let us prepare our hearts and minds for the amazing birth of our Savior Jesus Christ that God sent us for all time. Joy to the World!
