Over the last several years, I’ve been digging into different aspects of my Christian faith.

As moral standards continue to crumble in society, I found myself asking how we can confidently find our way to what is right and wrong when sometimes society makes what’s wrong sound so right and what’s right sound so wrong.

One of the questions that led me to was…

What makes Jesus different from every other religious figure in history?

What gives Him the authority to give us a moral standard?

Was Jesus just a good teacher we can cherry pick his “good teachings” to make our lives better? Is it all just self-help hype?

What do we do with harder moral ways of living Jesus taught that might mean sacrifice on our part? That might mean we choose His way over our own personal desires?

How and why does Jesus have the authority to ask us to live by His teachings, even when it hurts or doesn’t make sense to us?

I believe it’s because He was more than a prophet.

And that changes everything.
