A striking feature of Malaysian culture is the way we fight to pay the bill. Sometimes this is because of generosity, other times it is to 'show face'. If we lose the battle to pay, we feel indebted to find some opportunity to repay. By instinct, we think and act as if acceptance must be earned through works. And that can make it very hard for us to truly believe gospel a grace.

2.     Trust God like a child (15-17)

a.    The Kingdom is for children (15-16)

  b.     You must be like one (17)

3.  Put Jesus above everything (18-30)

a.     The rich ruler’s idol

  b.     God makes the impossible possible

c.     It will be worth it
